Moving Gallery
"We want Moving Gallery
to be a welcoming space,
for the established collector and first-time buyer, not a cold white box."
Arnoud van Mosselveld
– Arnoud van Mosselveld
Founder Moving Gallery
Founded 2018, when Arnoud received a space next to his Utrecht studio and, together with Marcel, turned it into a gallery. Born from their shared passion for art, the gallery aims to give great artists a platform to present work that genuinely moves the viewer.
The Moving Gallery offers space for artistic development, with a strong emphasis on emerging artists. Many have taken important early steps here, from first group shows to solo exhibitions, including Maeve van Klaveren, Suzanna van Oers, Anne Schillings, Elma Čavčić, and Elise van Staveren. The gallery has also introduced international voices to local audiences, such as Breton artist Alexandra Duprez. Artists like Aletta Bos, Jaap Godrie, and Max Kisman presented their first solo exhibitions at the gallery.
The gallery has a strong focus on works on paper, with recurring exhibitions like Works on Paper, Vertekend Beeld (illustration), and COLLAGE! (cut and paste). This focus extends beyond the gallery walls, with regular participation in (inter)national fairs such as Art on Paper Amsterdam and Paper Positions Berlin.
“Moving” speaks not only to our beginnings, shaped by the threat of relocation, but to our mission:
presenting exhibitions that evoke emotion, shift perspectives, and resonate.
The gallery is a member of the Nederlandse Galerie Associatie (NGA) and endorses the Fair Practice Code of the Mondriaanfonds.
