Paul de Reus is best known for his big wooden sculptures in public space. But he also is a splendid artist on paper, mostly using color pencil. That is why we asked him to join the exhibition Color Pencil (Kleurpotlood) in September 2024.

De Reus was born in 1963 in The Hague. He was trained as a visual artist at the Minerva Academy in Groningen and at the Jan van Eyck Academy in Maastricht. Sculptures by De Reus can be found in the public space of various places in the Netherlands. His work has been exhibited in Belgium, Germany, England, the Netherlands, Austria and Switzerland. In 1998 his work was exhibited in the Museum of Modern Art in Arnhem and in 2012 in the Stedelijk Museum Kampen. His work is in the collection of Museum de Fundatie in Zwolle, among others.
