Jenetta de Konink

Jenetta de Konink decided after a succesful career as fashion designer and stylist to devote the rest of her life to painting. This is 25 years ago but the directness of the boldly applied oil paint on her canvases and the self-assured brushstrokes display a true urgency and still suggest that the artist wants to make up for lost years. Since 2017, de Konink has been experimenting with blank pieces of canvas and embroidery in impasto oil paint, which immediately puts the work in a lighter perspective and gives an effective sharpness to her signature rough touch. In her latest work, these additions have disappeared again because De Konink has developed a new form that already carries the sharpness within itself.
De Konink had a solo in the Moving Gallery after the renovation in 2023. She also was in the fairs Art The Hague (2023) and Positions Art Fair Berlin in 2024 and the subsequent gallery exhibition Positions.
