New perspectives from Anne Schillings and Anna Reerds

We warmly invite you to the opening of UiTZiCHT on Sunday, November 26 at 4:30 PM, a duo exhibition featuring two young Utrecht-based artists: Anne Schillings and Anna Reerds.

Anne Schillings studied illustration at HKU but quickly moved into free painting—on a large scale. Her vivid landscapes, often with tiny human figures, burst with color in a style that echoes post-impressionism.

Anna Reerds also studied at HKU, in the design department. She builds her own sets from urban elements reminiscent of the Dutch post-war reconstruction era, using them to create entirely new images in photo and video. Her work blends the familiar with a strong sense of the uncanny.

During the opening, Klaas Drupsteen will speak with both Anne and Anna.

The exhibition runs through Sunday, January 14, 2024, and is open Friday through Sunday, from 12:00 to 5:30 PM.
