A captivating exhibition showcasing the dynamic work of this French artist duo.

On Saturday, January 18, we will open our promising exhibition "Duprez & Le Bars."
Alexandra Duprez and Jean-Pierre Le Bars are an artist couple from France. They work from their home base in Douarnenez, at the western tip of Brittany. Both have previously been featured in group exhibitions at the gallery, and we have also successfully presented Duprez’s work at (international) art fairs. Her art has been seen all over the world in recent years. Le Bars is less known for now, but his work is equally high-quality. While Duprez’s art is intuitive and pictorial, Le Bars’s paintings are graphic and rhythmic, yet very approachable. The beautiful thing is: they complement each other perfectly.

Friso Wijnen, director of BredaPhoto and former cultural attaché for the Netherlands in Paris, will officially open the exhibition on Saturday, January 18, at 16:00. Both artists will be present as well. The gallery will already be open from 12:00 that day.

"Duprez & Le Bars" runs until Sunday, February 16, and is open Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 12:00 to 17:30. On Thursdays, visits are by appointment only — please contact info@movinggallery.nl.

In the video rooms: Margreet Kramer

In the video rooms, we regularly program video art or documentary work that supports the main exhibition. But these spaces also offer us the opportunity to show video art independent of the main show. This time, it features the work of Amsterdam-based artist Margreet Kramer.

Her experimental video art explores everyday actions and rituals, whether sublimated or not. She often literally zooms in with her camera. Through the physical presence in her videos, the vulnerability of the human body becomes visible. Contact and touch are key aspects. It’s not what we do, but how we do it. Her films have been shown and awarded at international film festivals. In the video rooms, we present a selection of her earlier and recent works exploring these themes and experiences.

EDITIONS: still available online!

The exhibition in December was a success and definitely worth repeating. Because all artworks were offered in editions for the exhibition, most of the works are still available in editions. Missed the exhibition?
We have beautiful work by Sigrid Calon, Max Kisman, Anna Reerds, Bob Mollema, Maeve van Klaveren, Martijn Sandberg, Noor van der Bruggen, Daan Rietbergen, Leonie Bos, Paul Faassen, Daantje Bons, Sabine Liedtke and Guido de Boer (see his "Straight Forward" here above).

Tickets for Art on Paper Amsterdam: February 6–9

From February 6 to 9, we will again participate in Art on Paper, the Amsterdam fair dedicated to art on paper. This year, the event takes place in the Kromhouthal in Amsterdam North. The fair has been moved earlier in the calendar compared to last year, which was held around Ascension Day.

You can obtain tickets through us. Be sure to get them early, as the number of free tickets is limited: email info@movinggallery.nl with the subject line Tickets Art on Paper Amsterdam.

We’re heading to the fair with four international artists from Utrecht: Maeve van Klaveren, Joline Kwakkenbos, Daan Rietbergen, and Jolanda Schouten. More details coming soon!

Visit the Gallery — We’re open every Friday to Sunday, or by appointment if you prefer a quieter viewing. Located in the heart of Utrecht, our space is intimate, flexible, and built to adapt to each artist’s vision. Come in, slow down, and get close to the work.
