"EINMAL" with Anne Schillings & Art on Paper Amsterdam

Na de winterstop is het gelijk weer raak met een nieuwe expositie van Anne Schillings en (zie verderop) onze deelname aan de beurs Art on Paper Amsterdam.

‍'EINMAL'De expositie KODAMA van bijna een jaar geleden was een van onze meest succesvolle tentoonstellingen tot nog toe. Anne Schillings schildert in een stijl die je als hedendaags expressionisme zou kunnen duiden. Vanuit haar zeer ingetogen persoonlijkheid weet ze een enorme uitbundigheid neer te leggen op grote doeken dan wel op feestelijke kleine paneeltjes. Net als Edvard Munch schildert ze niet wat ze ziet maar wat ze hééft gezien. Maar dan weer anders. Alles vanuit haar herinnering en afkomstig uit haar directe omgeving en ervaring. Het is haast ongelooflijk wat Schillings sinds KODAMA heeft weten te creëren. Dat alles is te zien bij EINMAL: informele opening zaterdag 31 januari, 17:00 uur. Wees vooral welkom.  

Net als Schillings' vorige expositie staat ook deze in het teken van een buitenlandse artist-in-residency. Dit keer was ze een van de uitverkorenen voor een maandenlang verblijf in Künstlerhaus Schloß Plüschow in Noord Duitsland. De titel Einmal refereert aan Es war Einmal en de persoon alleen, die Anne meestal is.

After the winter break, we're kicking off with a new exhibition by Anne Schillings and our participation in the Art on Paper Amsterdam fair.

EINMAL‍

The KODAMA exhibition from almost a year ago was one of our most successful exhibitions. Anne Schillings continues painting in what we might call contemporary expressionism. From her very reserved personality, she manages to convey tremendous exuberance on large canvases as well as on festive small panels. Like Edvard Munch, she does not paint what she sees but what she has seen. But in a different way. Everything comes from her memory and is drawn from her immediate surroundings and experiences. It is almost incredible what Schillings has managed to create since KODAMA. This is on show at EINMAL: informal opening Saturday January 31, 5PM. You are most welcome.
Like Schillings' previous exhibition, this one is also inspired by an international artist-in-residency. This time, she was one of the selected artists for a months-long stay at Künstlerhaus Schloß Plüschow in northern Germany. Hence the title "Einmal," referring to "Es war Einmal" and the solitary person that Anne usually is.

Vrijkaarten Art on PaperVan 12 tot en met zondag 15 februari staan we, voor het vierde jaar in successie, weer op de enige echte kunst-op-papier beurs die Nederland rijk is: Art on Paper Amsterdam. Vorig jaar voor het eerst in de Kromhouthal in Amsterdam Noord en dat is alle spelers uitstekend bevallen. Dit jaar nemen we prachtig nieuw werk mee van Patricia Paludanus, Jolanda Schouten, Sarah van der Pols en 'on the cutting edge': Daan Rietbergen. Daarnaast vertonen we nabij het restaurant in de nieuwe corner 'Signed and Numbered" edities van Leonie Bos en Max Kisman. Art on Paper Amsterdam ArtfairFrom February 12 to Sunday, February 15, we will be participating, for the fourth consecutive year, in the only true art-on-paper fair in the Netherlands: Art on Paper Amsterdam Last year was our first time at the Kromhouthal in Amsterdam North, and it was a great success for all involved. This year, we are bringing stunning new works by Patricia Paludanus, Jolanda Schouten, Sarah van der Pols, and 'on the cutting edge': Daan Rietbergen.
