STEEN PAPIER SCHAAR
Opening STEEN PAPIER SCHAAR + Triple Exposure

Invite
We would like to invite you to the opening of the exhibition STEEN PAPIER SCHAAR (Rock, Paper Scissors) on Saturday, 15 November 2025. The exhibition presents a balance of artists working in three very different disciplines: paper, ceramics, and textiles.
This calls for a broad perspective on art, which is why we have invited fashion journalist John de Greef to open this exhibition. He will do so at 16:30.
Maeve van Klaveren, a familiar name in our gallery, has created a series of new, intriguing works, on paper, as always. Studio Steenhuizen represents the fruitful collaboration between ceramists (stone)/ designers Juultje Meerdink and Emiel Steenhuizen. The scissors refer to the textile art of the promising young textile artist Phlox van Oppen.
This exhibition runs until Sunday, 14 December 2025 and can be visited on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 12:00 to 17:30. Thursdays by appointment > info@movinggallery.nl

Maeve van Klaveren – paper
A trusted and much-loved artist from Moving Gallery, who has also achieved international success with recent solo exhibitions in Berlin and London. In her drawings, she captures everyday moments in quiet, layered images. Using watercolour, pastel and charcoal, she brings human closeness to life – the glance, the hand, the gesture – in scenes that are both intimate and familiar.

Studio Steenhuizen – steen/stone
Studio Steenhuizen – stone: the duo Juultje Meerdink and Emiel Steenhuizen shape ceramics and pottery into powerful objects that balance between art and design. Originating from applied arts, their work has now become predominantly autonomous. Their creations radiate craftsmanship, humour, and an earthy energy. In the exhibition, we see large vases and tableaux reminiscent of paintings.

Phlox van Oppen – schaar / scissors
Phlox van Oppen studied Textile Design at the KABK in The Hague and stood out at her graduation in 2022 with tapestries made of fabric that she had saved up in her student house. Her drive is focused on reuse and sustainability. After that, she went full throttle with special wall hangings for the Dutch Design Week, among others. She is currently pursuing a two-year master's degree in weaving at the leading Swedish School of Textile in Borås in Västergötland, which has the most modern weaving equipment in the world.

Finissage Triple Exposure
Yes, two weeks is quite short for such a beautiful exhibition as Triple Exposure by the three Utrecht galleries. But there will be a finissage, and - just like last year - a reflection by HKU lecturer Dieuwke Spaans. This will take place atGalerie SANAA at 4:00 PM.
And the opening was a celebration! At Galerie SANAA, HKU Director of Visual Arts Myrthe van de Giessen delivered beautiful words, followed by a fiery Oscar Larik in his namesake gallery, and the finale was lively and cheerful at the MovingGallery.
With this exhibition, these young artists have truly won a remarkable prize!
