Max Kisman (1953), a pioneer in digital design and typography, has created countless designs, illustrations and works of art. He taught at art academies, always working in his recognisable style, which brings together his Dutch and Indonesian roots.
In the 1990s, he was chief designer at the Dutch broadcaster VPRO, and in the United States he designed for technology magazine WIRED. For many years, he has kept illustrated diaries filled with wonderful drawings. In recent years, he has also been active as an artist. Recent exhibitions have taken place at the Wereldmuseum Amsterdam and the Centraal Museum Utrecht. Kisman had a solo exhibition at the Moving Gallery entitled Das tragische Schicksal des Heldentums for which he created a huge mural.
Kisman is also the designer of all the gallery’s posters.
