Daan Rietbergen
NL
Rietbergen’s letterforms and typographic experiments are often based on a strict grid, and the rules he imposes on himself when designing often outweigh legibility. Upon closer inspection of the works, Daan’s hand is clearly visible. His incredibly steady and careful handwork is emphasized by the visible pencil lines that give his letter paintings extra life. He sees his letters as living, individual characters that can stand alone, but can also form a family together. Rietbergen's turning point in 2026 is his decision to move beyond letterforms and embrace lighter, more fragile materials.
Daan Rietbergen has exhibited with MovingGallery at art fairs in the Netherlands and abroad, and has participated in the gallery's exhibitions Black on White, Positions and Kanteling (Turning Point).
