The immediacy of the vigorously applied oil paint on her enormous canvases and her confident brushstrokes convey a sense of urgency. As if J. de Konink (Jenetta de Konink, 1958) is still making up for lost years. After art school, she spent many years working in the international fashion world.
Perhaps this explains her tremendous drive, her sweeping gestures and her exuberant use of paint. Painting is, quite simply, what she is all about. Her paintings are figurative, but do not readily reveal their subject matter and therefore tend towards abstraction.

De Konink has exhibited at the gallery on several occasions, in both solo and duo exhibitions. We also presented her work at Positions Art Fair in Berlin, where her large canvases made a strong impression.
