The immediacy of the conspicuously applied oil paint on her enormous canvases, together with her confident brushstrokes, conveys a sense of urgency. They reveal that artist J. de Konink (Jenetta de Konink, born 1958) still wants to make up for lost years. After graduating from art school, she spent many years working in the international fashion world.

This explains her tremendous drive and the large, expressive gestures, with an abundance of paint. Painting is, quite simply, what she is all about. Her worksare figurative, but they do not readily reveal what they depict. As a result,her work tends towards abstraction. De Konink has exhibited at the galleryseveral times, including a solo exhibition shortly after the gallery’srenovation in 2023, and a duo exhibition with Cecilia Rebergen in 2025. Hercontribution to the Position Art Fair in Berlin in 2024 was equally impressive.
