STEEN PAPIER SCHAAR, is the Dutch name of the game Rock, Paper Scissors, a hand game, normally played by two people, where they also can choose for drawing a straw. This exhibition presents a balance of artists working in three very different disciplines: paper, ceramics, and textiles. Maeve van Klaveren, a familiar name in our gallery, has created a series of new, intriguing works. On paper, as always. Studio Steenhuizen represents the fruitful collaboration between ceramicists/designers Juul Meerdink and Emiel Steenhuizen. The scissors refer to the textile art of the highly promising young textile artist Phlox van Oppen.
